Sterling silver 925 platinum plated ring with Phaistos
disk decorated with opaline stones The Phaistos disk
is a disc of fired clam from the Minoan palace
of Phaistos on the island Crete, possible dating to the
middle or late Minoan Bronze Age (Second millennium
B.C ) The disk is about 15 cm.(5.9 inches)in diameter
and covered on both sides with a spiral of stamped
symbols, its purpose and is original place of manufacture
remain disputed now on display at the archaeological
museum of HeraclionThe disk was discovered in 1908
by the Italian archeologist Luigi Pernier
